My biggest tips when it comes to skin care:
1) Only invest in one or two key active products e.g. a good retinol and/or a good vitamin C serum rather than spending a fortune on moisturisers that claim to give you the earth but only really trap some moisture in.
2) Always Always Always wear an SPF50. Yes, even in the glorious British weather. If your budget only allows for one good quality item, make it sunscreen! Go for something like Heliocare Oil free gel and apply it after moisturiser but before makeup. Going for a factor 50 means that as it degrades throughout the day, it'll still provide some protection. Applying a lower factor/relying on your foundation's supposed SPF will not benefit you in the long run and you'll start to notice more ageing signs and more pigmentation forming. If you're spending money on in-clinic treatment and/or skin care, you need to protect your skin from the damage caused by UV rays. It is the day to day exposure that causes the worst damage long term.
3) Apply retinoid products at night (after cleansing and before moisturiser). Leave it to soak in for 5 minutes (maybe brush your teeth while it does its thing) and then apply your moisturiser.
4) Apply Vitamin C in the morning (after cleansing and before moisturiser and SPF). Medical grade vitamin c products (available on my online store) help to smooth skin and create that glow we all chase but they also help to protect against environmental damage.
5) Ask an expert if you're unsure! You can always book a free consultation with me to discuss your needs. I will always try to narrow it down to as few products as possible and never pressure you into purchasing anything. My DMs, emails, and texts are always open too. I do not mind giving away free advice because it complements the treatments I provide so perfectly.
6) Consider skin rejuvenation treatments in clinic. Skin boosters, chemical peels, microneedling and polynucleotides can be perfect for slowing down the clock and making your skin look the best it can look! Again, book a free consultation and we can discuss which would be the best option for you.
